Birch Brand Shirring Elastic
Shirring elastic is used to create stretchy gathers in a fabric. Use by hand winding the elastic onto your bobbin with slight tension. Then using a regular thread for you top stitch, sew rows of about 1.5cm apart (although you can change the width of the rows to suit your taste). Shirring is most suitable for light-to-midweight fabrics.
