Choose from a chic boat neckline or funnel roll neck, optional patch pockets (because who doesn’t love pockets?), three sleeve styles – full length, three-quarter length, with or without rolled cuffs, and make it as a top or dress.

Supplies

Fabric (see below), matching thread, ribbon or stay tape – 30cm (12in) x 6-8mm (¼in) wide, ballpoint or stretch needle for your sewing machine, sewing machine or overlocker (serger) and basic tools (a walking foot can be helpful if you’re using a regular sewing machine).

Fabric Suggestions

Medium-weight knit fabrics with a little stretch. Look out for ponte di roma, double knit or interlock. The boat neck top also works well in low-stretch jersey.
