Selvedge denim is made on vintage shuttle looms that produce a denser and stronger fabric that is more durable, and less prone to fraying. It features a tightly woven edge (the selvedge) that is included in the garments made with it, to signify its use.
The vintage shuttle looms used to produce this fabric, yield much less fabric than modern looms, making the denim more expensive, but are still used due to the high level of quality that they produce.
Notes: We recommend that you make use of the selvedge in your final garment, this is considered a badge of quality and will show your garment has been made with selvege denim.
